From February 12th to 14th, new students will meet staff, discover important resources, and prepare for a successful year.

Day 1 (February 12th) was all about settling in and meeting new people. Students checked in, completed their registration, and received their library forms. Our helpful SSD team, led by Ms. Leonardine and Ms. Maybolyne, was there to assist every step of the way.

Next came a warm welcome. Our wonderful EMCEE, Ms. Jacobeth Serave, opened the event with an uplifting prayer. Then, Mr. Sagara Wijeratne officially welcomed the students to the IBSCTVET family. It was a moment filled with energy and excitement for the journey ahead.

Next up: Meeting the team! Students were introduced to the friendly IBSCTVET staff. Building connections is important, and this was a great chance to start forming those relationships.

After a quick break, it was time to dive back in! Mr. Wijeratne led an insightful session on “Charting Your Paths at IBS,” guiding students through academic planning and how to use the ERP student portal. He also explained the Dual Qualification & Hybrid Learning Program, which offers even more opportunities for students.

The afternoon was concerned with various support services available at IBSCTVET. Each department shared key information through short presentations. Speakers included Mr. Vishal (Logistics), Ms. Regina (Finance), Ms. Regina, Mr. Israel, and Mr. Darius (Student Services), Mr. Conrad Barilla (Library and IT), and Ms. Natasha & team (Quality Assurance).

Students discovered valuable information about campus safety, financial aid, library resources, and tech support—everything they need for a smooth and successful experience at IBSCTVET.

What’s a campus experience without a tour? Mr. Gutuma and Ms. Tanya guided students around the campus, helping them find key locations and get familiar with their new surroundings. Meanwhile, Mr. Conrad Barilla and Mr. Airi Pegi took student ID photos—making everyone an official part of the IBSCTVET family!

And there’s more to come! Days 2 and 3 will be filled with exciting sessions, hands-on workshops, and fun activities. Students will explore their programs in greater detail, learn about career services, and discover student organizations. It’s a busy but exciting start to their academic journey!
