In line with IBS College of TVET mission to equip students with essential digital and professional skills, the ICT Department recently conducted a hands-on training session on Microsoft Office PowerPoint. The session was facilitated by Ms. Jacobeth Serave, ICT Assistant Lecturer, on the 16^th of October 2025. The training aimed to help students create professional and engaging presentations while building confidence in delivering them effectively.

The training’s main objective was to provide students with the basic knowledge and practical skills required to use Microsoft PowerPoint as a professional presentation tool. By the end of the session, students were expected to confidently create, format, and present slides that communicate ideas clearly and professionally.

Ms. Serave guided participants through a comprehensive overview of PowerPoint, including:

• General tips on delivering professional PowerPoint presentations
• Basic outline of a structured presentation
• Steps to collect and save content/data for PowerPoint use
• How to create and save a new PowerPoint file
• Adding and managing slides with various layouts
• Inserting and formatting contents such as text, images, and graphics
• Applying animations and transitions to enhance slide flow
• Saving and presenting a final slideshow

Ms. Serave stated that generally all of them were new to the new techniques but she encouraged them to do continuous practice especially one student who is less familiar with the MS software to apply what he learned in his own time to get it better.

The training combined theory with practical exercises, allowing students to follow along and practice on their computers.

Participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills in PowerPoint presentation in which they expressed appreciation for the training, noting that they had learned new techniques and approaches for creating visually appealing and professional slides.
