IBS College of TVET continues to strengthen its students’ digital literacy and professional readiness by conducting a Basics of Microsoft Word Training on 14th October 2025. The training was led by Ms. Kipilie Telape, ICT Assistant Lecturer, who guided students through the features of Microsoft Word to help them create and manage professional documents with confidence.

The primary goal of the training was to help students become familiar with key MS Word tools and commands, enabling them to type, format, and design documents efficiently and professionally. The training also enhanced students’ confidence in using digital tools for academic and professional purposes.

Throughout the interactive session, Ms. Telape walked students through practical exercises covering: Typing and editing documents, document layout and design, using styles and templates, inserting tables and graphics and applying formatting tools and referencing.

These topics provided students with the foundational skills needed to produce well-structured, visually appealing, and properly formatted documents.

Students expressed that the hands-on training helped them understand how to use MS Word more effectively and efficiently. They shared that the training significantly boosted theirconfidence and competence in using MS Word for assignments, reports, and other academic work.

The success of this training supports the mission of IBS College of TVET to provide practical digital skills training that prepares students for both academic success and future workplace demand.
